Squares Series

Echoing the concepts in the Frayed series, these squarish forms are torn and manipulated, then Chinese calligraphy ink and acrylic washes are applied to porcelain. The repetitive gestures and inky hues are reminiscent of the artist’s childhood, growing up in a home surrounded by aesthetic languages of Chinese brush paintings and calligraphic scrolls and prints.
